What's Included

A parking lot is infrastructure — we build it that way

Your lot is the first thing every customer touches and one of the largest capital assets on your property. Whether we're paving new ground or rescuing a failing surface, every Paving Kentuckiana lot project covers the full scope:

  • Site evaluation & core assessmentWe check base condition and drainage before quoting, so you're comparing real scopes — not guesses.
  • Grading & drainage correctionStanding water is the number one asphalt killer in Kentucky's freeze-thaw climate. We fix the flow first.
  • Full-depth paving or milling & overlayMachine-laid hot mix at commercial spec thickness, compacted to a dense, uniform surface.
  • ADA-compliant line stripingAccessible spaces, access aisles, fire lanes, and directional flow designed to current standards.
  • Phased schedulingSections, nights, or weekends — your lot stays partially open and your tenants stay happy.
Cost Factors

What drives parking lot paving cost in Louisville

Every lot is different, but four variables set the price. Knowing them helps you compare bids apples-to-apples.

FACTOR 01

Square Footage

The biggest driver. Larger lots cost more in total but less per square foot as mobilization spreads out.

FACTOR 02

Base Condition

Sound base means overlay pricing. Failed base means excavation and new stone — the difference between the two bids you're comparing.

FACTOR 03

Asphalt Thickness

Car traffic needs less; delivery trucks and dumpster pads need more. We spec thickness zones to your actual traffic.

FACTOR 04

Drainage & Extras

Catch basins, curbing, speed bumps, bollards, and signage add scope — and we itemize every one.

Parking Lot FAQ

Common questions from Louisville businesses

How long does it take to pave a commercial parking lot?
Most small-to-mid commercial lots take 2–5 working days depending on size, base repair scope, and weather. Milling and overlay projects move faster than full-depth replacement. We provide a day-by-day schedule with every written estimate.
Can our lot stay open during paving?
In most cases, yes. We phase the work in sections so part of the lot remains open for customers, tenants, and deliveries — and we offer night and weekend scheduling when full closures need to be avoided.
Should we resurface or completely replace our parking lot?
If the base is sound and damage is limited to the surface, milling and overlay resurfacing restores the lot at significantly lower cost. If there's widespread alligator cracking, rutting, or drainage failure, full-depth replacement is the better long-term investment. We assess base condition during the free evaluation and quote both options when both are viable.
Is new line striping included?
Yes. Every lot we pave or resurface is striped to an efficient, ADA-compliant layout — accessible spaces, access aisles, fire lanes, and directional markings included.
How many accessible spaces does ADA require?
It scales with lot size — a lot with 1–25 total spaces needs at least one accessible space, and larger lots need proportionally more, including van-accessible spaces. We calculate the required count and layout as part of your striping plan.
